Yay for hunting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, here we go.
Hunting is AWESOME!! I had a great time and we really lucked out that the weather was SO BEAUTIFUL! I was a bit worried about spending so much time in the saddle (we're talking from sun up to sun down people!), but Steevo brought me a little camo pillow for me to tie to my saddle which made a world of difference!

We rode through some pretty thick parts of the forest but it was really fun. I learned to trust the horse and his feet (he only fell over on me once).

Beautiful, beautiful, COLD but beautiful!!

He got a 5 point and it was awesome. We chased the bull at full speed through the trees... it was SO much fun!

3 x 30: Western WA and Noah

At the end of Sept. I took a little road trip out to Western Washington/Easter Idaho to visit Hailey and Brett and their new bundle. It's a 5 hour drive but it's pretty.
Cost: Gas
Rating: If ya have a reason to go to Moscow, ID and Pullman, WA I'd do it!

We had a great time hanging out and catching up. Caramel Apples, quilt square cutting, grizzly bear seeing etc. I'd reccommend it.

Sawtooths

Well, I'm off to another exciting and most likely freezing cold weeking in Wyoming. This time we'll be hunting elk in the Sawtooth Mtn. Range.
Wish me luck, 4 solid days on a horse... ouch.

No Kidding

Two weeks ago on my way home from church I noticed this green VW with a ton of stuff filling the back seat. When I got closer I noticed that there was something else in the front passenger seat. A duck. It was a duck. A live honest to goodness duck.
I missed my exit trying to get a good shot with my phone and not crash my car.

Can you see it in profile? He was just chilln' enjoying a sunday drive I guess.

Bainbridge Island Part II: The art finds.

I was at the Roby King Gallery and just fell in love (again).

3 x 30: Bainbridge Island

Alrighty then. Last week or the week before I took myself to Bainbridge Island! LOVED IT!! It was a whole day event and worth every minute. I just wantered around the little town center going in and out of shops and galleries. Really cool place. It has a lot of biking and things you can do too but I just took my car.
Cost: $14.50 (each way, with my car on the ferry, so $29.00 round trip)

Rating: Ab-sah-friggin-lootly!!

Here the ferry is just getting underway. Bainbridge is way back there on the horizon.

Note: When you go on this ferry beware that there is a shatteringly loud horn attatched to the front and it may go off without warning. (this pic was taken after I went to the gift shop and bought a new hearing aid and a trip to the facilities to change my soiled trousers)

Mt. Ranier. The mountains infront of this volcano look to be as big as those along the Wasatch front. Mt. Ranier rises over 14,000 feet above sea level. It's HUGE!!

Crochet'd it myself

So forever ago I posted about something called a "Draft Dodger". Well, I decided last week that I'd try to make one myself. I do, afterall, know a basic crochet stitch and really, how hard could it be? My friend Kacey and I have been getting so excited about fall and this was my first attempt to welcome the season.
